January 5-11, 2025

Though this week starts out with a certain amount of confusion or uncertainty, we can find solace in the power of our divine magnitude. What guides us, drives us, and teaches us the most valuable lessons in life is the sanctity of our divine selves. We know what is right and wrong, but we do not always pay close enough attention to those discrepancies when faced with them at any given moment. This week will help us sort through the boundaries that were crossed, the inner reflection we require for ideal healing, and the elevation of our values to better align with the future we hope for ourselves. Maybe we will find such treasures in the pains and hard lessons we have been afraid to notice or discuss with anyone. Hopefully we can find glimmering rays of sunshine reflecting off of our hearts back into to the world we live in.

Moon in Pisces square Mercury in Sagittarius

Moon conjunct Neptune in Pisces

Moon conjunct its North Node in Aries

Moon in Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius

Yes, we are working with the typical Piscean influences of confusion, disarray, escapism, and forgetfulness today, but we are also more susceptible and able to merge with the unseen when we experience such transits. These spaces and times can feel like a fantastic world that speaks to our divinity, and they can imbue an uncanny sense of freedom and liberation unlike any other. These portals, if you will, are quite prevalent during these windows of time. “Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.” (Robert Hunter)

If we are able to tap into these realms at any point today, we have to embrace their value for what they are. This is the space of poets, musicians, painters, dancers, sculptors, and all those who convey back to us what they find there. These are sanctified, yet formless, places, and they can show us truths we do not understand otherwise. Creativity and imagination are born there and emerge when we merge with it. If we can manage to drift into spaces like this today, we might discover moments of enlightenment and lucidity that can spark ideas and inspiration that speak to our calling and passions.

These callings and passions are later able to be embraced exponentially, especially if we can happen upon some divine moments such as described above. These connections to the divine within ourselves teach us invaluable lessons of truth and spirit. How can we follow through with the path we are impassioned about without first understanding how to align with this aspect of our soul? There is power and mystery embedded in the latter part of today, inviting us to relate more to the transmutational process we are undergoing at this time. How will this process nurture us and help cultivate the unique bouquet that we each emanate?

*Mars retrogrades into Cancer*

Mercury in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces

Moon in Aries sextile Jupiter in Gemini

Moon conjunct Chiron in Aries

If we were unable to flesh out any meaning behind whatever sacred Piscean moments we encountered yesterday, signs may appear today that remind us and enlighten us to those meanings, but we might not like what we find. We might instead feel irritated or more confused than before, despite the realization. The wires are crossing, certainty is questionable, and our thinking process is quite disrupted and distracted. It would be ideal if we did not have to rely too heavily upon technological communication today. Though Mercury is not retrograde, its angle to Neptune is not conducive to a fluid flow of information or understandings. As a matter of fact, we are all going to be so prone to misunderstandings today that any solitary work is advised.

As Mars drifts back into tropical Cancer, we are reentering the realm of exceptionally glacial progress. A realm that asks us to carefully plan and strategize our course of action for when the light turns green again. Though Mars has been retrograde for exactly one month, it has been in Leo, which prodded us to face our humility and come down off our throne. Now we are drifting inward to emotionally connect with our passions and desires. This includes what we are wanting to get out of our future. What stories can we recall from late October into the first few days of November?

These processes of returning inward to better understand what we are passionate about, and why, can help reveal the true depths of our purpose and life’s work. These are the moments that can matter more than the moments of action. Are we taking into consideration the entirety of our past, including our shortcomings and trauma, in order to see ourselves completely and authentically? If we neglect any facet of how our gem terminates, we are not holistically incorporating our entire selves into our future. We risk leaving pieces behind that might contain even a shred of critical value for what lies ahead.

Moon in Aries trine Mercury in Sagittarius

Moon in Aries square Mars in Cancer

Moon in Taurus square Pluto in Aquarius

If our go get ‘em isn’t going or doesn’t know what it’s getting, we need to retreat back to the drawing room. And while we might feel compelled to go and get something or anything at all, we have to reconcile the consequences of careless and thoughtless action. The best option for today, astrologically, is to brainstorm what we want, what we believe in, what we seek to discover in our lives. Researching destinations we want to experience, cultures we want to learn more about, and what their traditions and customs might teach us are all excellent ideas for what we can do with our time.

Moon and Mars are square to one another and in what is called mutual reception (when each is in the other’s ruling sign). This can exacerbate any or every situation we find ourselves in. It can inflame those situations emotionally and leave little room for clarity, understanding, compassion, or forgiveness. As mentioned above, this is a good day to retreat into our own surroundings to indulge in our own imaginative and emotional inspirations. What creative work can we engage in that will be able to take advantage of today’s tension and volatility? Some great masterpieces are borne from emotional agitation and solitude.

Moon in Taurus sextile Venus in Pisces

*Mercury ingresses Capricorn*

Moon in Taurus sextile Saturn in Pisces

Sun in Capricorn square Chiron in Aries

When we are thrown around in the whirlpool of life without a tether, we sometimes come out of it with a new perspective. We begin to see life differently, we begin to reconsider what values will stand the test of time for us, and we begin to take certain things more seriously than we used to. The lofty ideals of positive relationships can also take center stage and instill in us a desire to sustain the best of what exists in those relationships while dispensing with what is not best. These are mere suggestions for what we might want to consider more than usual today. We have to follow our own desires and truths, or else we neglect ourselves and end up living a large portion of our lives as the mercy of someone else.

Mercury is often in or near Capricorn around each new year, and this beckons us to reconsider some of our vices and guilty pleasures. Functionality plays a big role during Mercury’s tenure in Capricorn, no matter when it occurs. What is right and wrong? What boundaries are we neglecting or unnecessarily holding onto? Maybe if we were to analyze each facet of our lives to see if our boundaries are where they should be we could proceed more aligned with the truth we strive to embrace. Enforcing those boundaries is an altogether different feat, of course, but if we can sustain our recognition of where they should be, we might be able to gradually implement them as gracefully and kindly as possible. The apple cart may be volatile, so we have to exercise gentleness in such delicate situations.

Moon conjunct Uranus in Taurus

Moon in Taurus sextile Neptune in Pisces

Moon in Taurus sextile Mars in Cancer

Moon in Gemini trine Pluto in Aquarius

Every time Moon transits through Taurus, we place more emphasis on our values, resources, and sustainability. We also consider the beauty of our surroundings and how our senses indulge in that beauty. All these tendencies are furthermore likely to be assessed for ways to improve upon them today. Can we elevate our standard of living? Can we shuffle our finances around to earn more money? Do calculations conclude our lifestyle can be sustained for years to come? And what can we do to make our house or apartment more hospitable and joyful? Maybe we need to make improvements, do a deep clean, or fix some things we have put off.

We could run into some conflicts of ambiance if we live with someone who has a different idea of how to redecorate or improve upon our surroundings. One of us may want things to stay the same. One of us might argue that more creature comforts are important to the health of the relationship. Or maybe we end up both feeling too exhausted to make any changes, despite the need for many. At the end of the day, we might find ourselves in an enticing conversation that shines new light into the crux of our transformational processes. This shift from the physical to the mental can be a welcome relief and a more inspirational avenue for our inquisitive minds.

Moon in Gemini square Venus in Pisces

Moon conjunct Jupiter in Gemini

Moon in Gemini square Saturn in Pisces

In case we don’t have enough words, today will provide plenty for the picking. Hopefully every string of them, however, will resonate kindness and truth, the latter of which we will need to be mindful of presuming too much. This is all to say we might end up expressing ourselves a little too harshly or critically, so we should err on the side of thinking twice before we speak. The winds are blowing strong off the seas, and we should not expect to always be able to brave them or understand the messages they carry. Even if we were to make sense of those winds, it may not iterate what we want to hear.

As long as trim our sails just right and keep on a steady tack, there are opportunities that can arise through good conversations. As the waxing Gemini Moon rolls around heaven with Jupiter by its side, we are reminded of so much we want to explore and learn in our lives. We are reminded of what once intrigued us but we never pursued. What we once dreamed of doing but never committed to. We so often rediscover wonders of the world around us through new eyes and with more maturity and wisdom, and what unfolds today could spark those kinds of experiences.

Moon in Gemini sextile Chiron in Aries

Moon in Gemini square Neptune in Pisces

The baton is passed on to infuse us with a little confusion today. Again, what we end up saying may not be what we mean to say precisely, so exercising hesitancy and caution when wanting to blurt our thoughts and feelings is advised. When in our own space and thoughts, we may feel that confusion and disarray, but we might be able to make sense of the long road our trauma and healing has taken us on. The petty acts of perpetration against us, the insinuating and snide remarks made by others to make us feel less than them, even the harsh and horrible violations of our physical, emotional, and mental boundaries are all able to be reseen and recognized for what they did to us.

These kinds of violations are all incredibly painful and exhausting to relive or remember, but we must recall all we have done over the years to overcome and empower ourselves despite them. And even though it may be challenging to notice the spiritual and emotional growth they have instilled upon us, it is nevertheless evident how far we have come. Holding true to our own moral compass and reminding ourselves how intelligent and wise we have grown to be throughout our lives will help fortify our resolve and confidence that we deserve to experience life to its fullest and as free from insecurities as possible. What metaphysical and/or spiritual inspirations have helped guide us to where we are? What is inspiring us today to acquire a greater understanding of our place in this world? Hopefully we are on a hopeful path of redemption and revelation to uplift our perception of our realities.

Tough times usually lead to tough lessons. Lessons that are hard to notice through all the pain and suffering. But the simplicity and clarity of those lessons might just be sitting right in front of us waiting for us to notice them. There are a lot of ways for us to redeem our sense of joy and hope in this world, from religion to love to solitude to the arts to reveling in the natural wonders that exist all over the world. And the pain that has gotten in the way of sustaining our revelry for such wonders and opportunities for enlightenment can show us all the ways we must learn to overcome and rise above the darkness of its intrusion. Willingly extending an olive branch to ourselves to nurture more peace within our minds and tranquility in our hearts should be a driving motivation this week. May we all inch a little bit closer to our own unique manifestation of lucidity and serenity.
